Screen Printing
Since starting university, the workshop I have spent the most time in by far has been the print workshop. My first module, Core Skills, sparked a love for screen printing that has continued to grow with each new project, as I continue to find joy in experimenting with pattern and colour to breath new life into my textiles. From small placement prints to large scale repeats, I have explored a range of techniques including open screen printing, hand painting, flock, and foil, and as I continue through my degree I am excited to push the boundaries and try out new methods. Particularly since beginning second year, I am highly focused on cultivating my own sustainable working practice, making a conscious effort to use up unwanted print pastes, and only making up small quantities of new ones to prevent wastage.
